I’m Juan Cardona, a tattoo artist born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, and currently based in Boston. My artistic background began with drawing, progressing from anime-inspired work to portraiture and a deeper study of contrast, composition, and detail. After first experiencing tattooing as a collector, I began my formal training at Casa Cultural Marcarte in Envigado and continued developing my technique through years of independent practice. I specialize exclusively in blackwork, creating custom illustrative pieces, lettering, and large-scale compositions. My work is defined by strong visual structure, thoughtful use of contrast, and soft stippling shading that adds depth without overpowering the design. I approach each project as a collaboration, considering the client’s concept, the placement, and the natural movement of the body to create work that feels intentional, personal, and built to last.
