Sleeves at Ink source
When it comes to designing your sleeve, we want to collaborate with you to create something you'll be proud to wear for the rest of your life. Our artists are passionate about creating original, meaningful work that not only reflects your vision but also stands the test of time.
Driven by passion, and art
Every artist at Ink Source brings a unique artistic perspective, allowing us to match each client with the artist best suited to their vision.
Whether you're looking for bold, colorful illustrative work, striking black and grey realism, expressive Trash Polka, or another custom style, our team specializes in a wide range of tattooing techniques.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we believe every project deserves the right artist, someone whose strengths align with your ideas to create a sleeve that is both beautifully executed and uniquely yours. Sleeve projects are some of our favorite tattoos to create.
They allow us to think beyond a single design and craft a complete composition that flows naturally with the body and tells a larger story.
We genuinely enjoy collaborating on these long-term projects and are always excited to take on new sleeve commissions, helping clients transform their ideas into cohesive works of art they'll wear for a lifetime.
What to expect
-
Your sleeve begins with a conversation. During the consultation, we'll discuss your ideas, inspiration, preferred style, placement, and any existing tattoos that need to be incorporated or worked around. We'll also review reference images, answer any questions you have. By the end of the consultation, you'll have a clear understanding of the overall direction, estimated timeline, and what to expect moving forward.
-
After your consultation, your artist will begin developing your custom artwork. Every sleeve is designed specifically for your body, taking into account composition, flow, and how the design wraps naturally around your arm. Because of the time and attention required for large-scale projects, designs are typically shared a few days before your appointment, with final adjustments and sizing completed together on the day of your session. We will be in contact to show drafts, as well as make anu design adjustments needed through email (or even day of! this is permanent, and we want you to be in control!)
-
Once you're ready to move forward, we'll secure your first appointment with a deposit. Sleeve projects are completed over multiple sessions, so we'll work with you to build a schedule that fits both your availability and the healing time needed between appointments. Many clients choose to book several sessions in advance to maintain momentum and complete their sleeve more efficiently.
Please note, each session has to be at least a month apart to allow for the skin to heal.
-
Your first session is where the project truly begins. We'll review the design together, make any final sizing or placement adjustments, and ensure everything feels right before tattooing starts. Depending on the sleeve, the first session may focus on establishing the primary composition, major focal points, or completing a large section. Every project progresses differently, but each session builds toward a cohesive finished sleeve.
-
The final session is all about bringing the sleeve together. We'll complete the remaining details, refine transitions, deepen contrast where needed, and make sure the entire piece flows seamlessly from shoulder to wrist. Once your sleeve is complete, we'll provide detailed aftercare instructions and discuss any future touch-ups (that are free for up to one year!) if necessary. The goal is to leave you with a finished piece that looks balanced, intentional, and built to last for years to come.
